Facebookでは告知していましたが、実は今月7日から沖縄市の珈琲専科 loop 二階にあるアートギャラリーにて、KIYOの初個展が始まっております！！
As you may already know through our official Facebook page, our designer Kiyo’s first solo exhibition has started at an art gallery on the 2nd floor of the Coffee specialist cafe LOOP in Okinawa City.
今回は県内、海外で活動する沖縄出身の4人のアーティストがコラボしたインスタレーションで、沖縄の問題から世界の問題までを表現しています。
This exhibition was realised through the collaboration of four Okinawan artists who are based on the island and overseas. It expresses from the problems in Okinawa to the ones in the world.
写真は米ニューヨークでフリーランスをする傍ら自身のフォトスタジオ shootinglife LLCも経営するTokio Kuniyoshi、サウンドはドイツ・ベルリンで活動するサウンドアーティストのKyotetsu Horikawa、オブジェクトは県内多数のショップ什器を手がけるTomomasa Teruyaが担当し、KIYOがその全体をディレクションしています。
The photographs were taken by a NY-based photographer Tokio Kuniyoshi, the sound is by Kyotetsu Horikawa, who is based in Berlin. The objects are by Tomomasa Teruya, and Kiyo did all the art directions.
今回は写真を使ったアートインスタレーションなのですが、この為にKIYOも自らNYへ飛び、Tokioさんと試行錯誤しながら撮影に挑みました！
It is the art installation using photos, and the photos were taken at Tokio’s studio in NY. Actually, Kiyo himself flied to NY for the shooting.
展示では、ただ写真をディスプレイするのではなく、透明なガラスに両サイドから異なる写真を貼り付けて各サイドから見た印象が変わるような仕組みになっています。
The photos were printed on clear films and sticked to the glass boards from both sides so that the appearances look different from each side.
展示の様子はこんな感じです。

Tokioさんの写真にTomomasaさんのフレームとKyotetsuさんの音が合わさって、会場は神秘的な異様な雰囲気に包まれています。写真で見るのと会場の雰囲気に触れながら感じるのとでは本当に全然違うので、是非実際に体感しに来てください！
The installation is very mysterious and overwhelming. I can’t explain well, but I’m sure you’ll find it completely different from just seeing the pictures above, when you’re thrown into the space with this whole sound, objects and everything. It is definitely worth visiting!
会場は珈琲専科loopの中から繋がる階段を上った2階にあります。loopさんのコーヒーもケーキも食事も全て絶品ですので、是非是非そちらも合わせて楽しんでいただけたらと思います✨
Now what you need to do is to go to the LOOP, get in there and go upstairs. To make your visit more lovely, I suggest you have a piece of cake and a cup of coffee on the ground floor!
また、loop一階では展示会のグッズとして、今回展示している写真をポストカードサイズにしたクリアカードと、loop × 層展のクッキーを販売しております。
Also, on the ground floor, we sell special cookies and all the photographs displayed at the exhibition in a postcard size.
実は、このグッズの用意が展示会開始に間に合わず、今週の月曜日からの販売となっていますので、開催初日や早めにご来場してくださった皆様すみません！！またいらしてください！笑
Well, those who are very kind and have already visited on the first week, I’m so sorry! We couldn’t make it and just started to sell those goods this Monday. We’re looking forward to seeing you come back again!
